Making KNOTWOOD involves several stages, which are crucial to producing a perfect end product. KNOTWOOD manufactures its products by using world-class technology and advanced machines so that they can bring solutions to their customers' problems and cater to their needs.

Making a KNOTWOOD involves many crucial processes. Extrusion is one of the initial things. It is a process that one uses to create a particular cross-sectional profile item by forcing it or pushing the material out from a die with the desired cross-sectional profile. The method of extrusion starts by heating the stock of billet aluminium. Once the material is heated, one transfers it into a container in the press. After all, the material is in the press container, and the dummy block is under placement. A dummy block is one of the essential elements of the aluminium extrusion process. It is behind the container. The ram presses the aluminium to force it out of the die. When the material is out, to make it straight, it undergoes stretching.

Powder coating

KNOTWOOD's main aim is to design straightforward systems which are durable, robust, versatile and easy to install. KNOTWOOD uses an advanced powder coating system. This process of powder coating the extruded aluminium allows KNOTWOOD to offer a wide range of colours. Once the extrusion is over, the extruded material undergoes a particular powder coating system. The powder used for coating is electrically charged and baked. This process involves the usage of electronic guns. The electronic firearms make an 80-120 microns powder paint layer on the material. After the powder paint layer, polymerization is performed. The polymerization process involves heating the extruded aluminium profiles to two hundred and twenty degree Celsius for half an hour. This base layer gives a smooth and permanent finish. It also acts as a protective layer which protects the aluminium from external damage caused by corrosion, harsh weather conditions, abrasion and ultraviolet light.

Wood Effect

Once the material is extruded and has a coating with the base paint powder, the powder-coated aluminium further undergoes the coating process, bringing the realistic wood effect. The coated aluminium profiles are wrapped in any of KNOTWOOD's films to obtain the wood effect. The wrapped profile gets inside a conveyor system. Inside the conveyor system, the air in the film around the aluminium undergoes vacuuming.

In the final stage, the aluminium is transported into the oven by the conveyor system. Under high heat and pressure, the film gets imprinted onto the aluminium.
